Howl Of The Day: No7

NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL – Holland, 1945

Ok, so we tend to give newer bands a chance on our Howl Of The Day spot, but sometimes you just can’t help finding a song from back in the day and wanting to thrust it out there for all to hear. ‘Holland 1945’, by the fabulous 90’s band Natural Milk Hotel is a perfect example. Described by some as a “marching band on acid”, Natural Milk Hotel take acoustics, folk and Mumford and Sons like brass (although they were around before the Mumford folk movement), and healthily shove it into a glorious amount of fuzz and lo-fi Mary Chain esque fury.
