Getting samples right is a precarious task, dependent on a whole host of factors that will eventually culminate in a muddled mess or a mixed masterpiece. So far, so good for Joywave who have utilised the art of musical theft with utter poise and perfection.

Just check out ‘Titan’ below, which starts with those wonderful sweeping violins from the beginning of Matt Monroe’s Bond theme, ‘From Russia With Love’, before nosediving into the electro blare of ‘West End Girls’, the 80s classic by The Pet Shop Boys. They currently have debut mixtape, ‘77777’, available for free download, so get it while you can.
